Usually the quick and easy Achari recipe is to make some sauce out of the available achar (pickles) with onion and tomato base and float some meat pieces into it. Well! That is  may be Achari Chicken/Mutton  but no where close to what follows, try it and let me know …

Ingredients :

  • 1 number bell pepper green
  • 1/2 tsp chironji
  • 1 bunch coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp kaloongi
  • 1.5 kg lamb
  • 1 number lemon
  • 1/2 tsp mustrad seeds
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp saunf
  • 1/2 tsp Dill seeds
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • little ginger
  • pinch of cumin seeds
  • pinch of methi seeds
  • pinch of Turmuric powder
  • as per the taste salt
  • as needed Water
  • a pinch sugar

Procedure :

  • Take a presure cooker add oil,onion,salt cook till the onions are brown colour then add gingergalic paste,turmuric mix well now add mutton.
  • Add little water,coriander powder,red chilli powder mix well and close it with the lid and cook till mutton is tender.
  • For Achari powder : Take a pan add methi seeds,murstard seeds,zeera,kaloongi, saunf,chironji, till,mix all well till they are fried and blend them.
  • Take the same pan add oil cumin seeds,methi seeds,kaloongi,blended paste,cook it the oil loses out now add the gravy of lamb which was cooked in the presure cooker let it cook.
  • Once sauce is thick add mutton, salt,curd and mix well cook for 10 min in slow flame, sugar optional.
  • To garnish  , add coriander leaves, Bell Peppers/chillis,  ginger strips,  and lemon.
